I feel like 2017 was a huge year for trying out new products. I really focused a lot on skin care as well as trying to wear a little less makeup when I go to work. As you guys also know I am a huge fan of lipsticks and so there a ton of cool lipsticks that I have loved this year on my list. Now, these are not necessarily products that have been realised this year, but rather products that I have enjoyed using.
This was a product I purchased in 2016 and I wasn’t entirely sure if it was going to be worth the pretty hefty price tag, but seriously, it really is. This retails at Mecca for $58 which is a little bit pricey, however, this is one of my most favourite go-to bronzers. I know that any time I use this product, I am going to have a perfect bronzy contour. I also find that this product has lasted a very long time. I have had this for over a year now and I really do use it a lot; I have hit pan, but there is still plenty of product left.
2017 was a big year where I really focused on my skincare and ever since I have, my skin looks fantastic. I have been using sheet masks a few times a week and I tried to find affordable, but good options. There are three that I really reached for, which include the Garnier hydra bomb, the Daiso sheet masks and compressed masks which can be bought Daiso or eBay. I really like sheet masks for hydration and I found that these ones were fantastic to add to my skincare routine.
I know this is probably on everyone’s favourite list, but I really do love this product. I really fail at washing my face in the sink and normally just get water everywhere; I am more of a cleanse in the shower kind of gal. However, I love to use this to cleanse my face in the morning or at nights (normally after we go out to dinner on weekends) when I don’t have a shower but still want to wash my face as this doesn’t need to be rinsed off. I also love this to remove makeup and generally find this a great all rounder product. I really like this one from Garnier.
This has been a huge staple in my lipstick collection ever since they first came out. This lipstick claims to be kiss proof, smudge proof and almost everything proof and seriously, it is. I find that I can wear this lipstick all day and the majority of it does not budge at all, even if I eat food. There are a few things I don’t like about this though is that it is hard to come off and it does fade off a bit around the inner lips (aka the butt hole). This lipstick does occasionally flake off if my lips are incredibly dry, but those aren’t major deal breakers for me personally considering how fantastic this lipstick is. I don’t wear it all the time since it is annoying to get off, but when I need my lipstick to stay, I can always trust this.
Now I got recommended this blush in Harmony as the perfect contour shade and at first, I thought, surely this couldn’t be since when I bought it online, the colour did not seem dark enough to give that perfect contour, however in person, it is wonderful. I have had this for a decent while now and have only hit pan recently, which I find awesome. I use this more as my everyday contour shade and I know that when I use this, I will always look fantastic. This is a little bit pricey, however, with some of my more affordable, I find that they don’t always look perfect all the time, but I know this will.
These have colour jolts have very quickly become some of my favourite lip products. I love the fantastic bright colour range of these lipsticks as well as the product. They are not flawless, but they do last a decent amount of time and fade pretty nicely. I also love the price range of these and managed to get most of my collection on sale which was fabulous.
It is actually funny because when I first bought this palette, I just bought it on a whim and did not touch it for ages, however this year, I just fell in love with it. Firstly, Pop is by far my most favourite shade and I love the pop of glitter it gives my look. These shadows, especially the glittery ones work very well wet or dry which is great. Generally, though, I do find that I can create tons of looks from this palette. It has a great mix of matte and shimmery shades, as well as the blue and gold shade, I find they add a little something to the mix. There are plenty of dark as well as light colours and I do really enjoy using this palette.
This foundation is seriously one of my staples in my makeup collection and it just perfect for going out. Now, this foundation is very expensive and retails for $68AUD, which is pretty ridiculous, however, it is just so beautiful. I have had this for about a while now and am only just nearly finishing it up, which helps me justify spending so much. This foundation really does make your skin look flawless and last a very long time. I wear this every time we go somewhere fancy and I just love it. I use the colour Santa Fe and I find that it is the perfect colour for my skin tone. There isn’t too much to say about this other than I find it fantastic and could not live without it when it comes to fancy makeup.
This powder is by far one of my favourites for not only setting my makeup but also using alone when I don’t want to wear too much makeup. I really like the texture of this powder and it really does help keep me matte all day long. I also really like that there isn’t too much pigment in the powder which prevents anything cakey, but it also has enough so that if I want to wear it alone or with maybe a BB cream, it adds a little extra coverage. This powder is pretty affordable and Maybelline is constantly on sale which is fantastic.
Mac lipsticks are by far my holy grail for lip products. I just love the texture and how long they last for; I know that whenever I wear a Mac lipstick, it will look great and last a long time. Now some of these survive through eating and some of them don’t but either way, they always fade lovely which is awesome. Now Mac lipsticks are a bit expensive, but they really do last a very long time and I have never use a whole stick. I own so many Mac lipsticks, but these are the ones I have been reaching for the most; I also reached for Ruby Woo too, but I, unfortunately, lost it.
This palette is by far my favourite palette for more traditional vintage eyeshadow looks. I find that this is a great palette to create a few different traditional looks and is a palette that I take when travelling. I love using these eyeshadows either on their own or mixed with other palettes that I own. This palette is pretty affordable, but has fantastic pigment and lasts all day.
So those are all of my favourites for 2017. I love trying out new products and a few of these I have tried recently, but some of these really are holy grails that I have been using for a long time. Let me know what some of your favourites was this year!?
