It’s that time of year again when everyone is dressing festive to go to different Christmas events. Even though it is supposed to be hot here in Australia (it is currently quiet cool here in Melbourne even though it is summer), many beautiful ladies are pulling out all their beautiful bright red lipsticks. Now with this, I am so excited to share all of my favourite festive; I wanted to share some different types of festive colours including berries, orange toned red and a few others since many woman will be wearing a generic sort of red. Now, if that is you, that is totally okay and I love a good traditional red, but I also love being a little different here and there too.
I am pretty sure that Chris (my boyfriend) bought me this as a gift and I really love this colour so much. D for Danger is a Matte lipstick that lasts a really long time. I love this dark berry red colour and find that it looks fantastic with a beautiful festive outfit. This lipstick is currently available from MAC for $36AUD.
Now this is a slightly different colour for Christmas, however I still really love it. This is a more pink colour, however I wouldn’t 100% say it is a true pink; for me, this lipstick is a mix of berry, red and pink which creates a pretty unique colour, but extremely beautiful. This is another Matte lipstick and so typically does last a long time; I do however, find this lipstick to be a little dry which can be a bit annoying. This lipstick is currently available from MAC for $36AUD.
This lipstick is another slightly different festive color with a beautiful orange under tone. I really love how bright this lipstick is and this particular one is extremely creamy which is fantastic. I don’t find this one to last very well when eating, however, it does fade extremely well and is very easy to re-apply. I don’t think this lipstick is available on the Maybelline website, however, it is still online on Catch of the Day for only $3.99AUD which is a fantastic deal for a wonderful festive lipstick.
This lipstick by Rimmel London is seriously one of my favourite lipsticks as they actually do last all day, even after food. The thing about this lipstick is however, it is pretty hard to get off at the end of the day and the inside of the lips (also known as the ‘butthole’ by many awesome online ladies), does wear off a bit, but nothing too dramatic. I really love this colour and find this to be a fantastic traditional Christmas lipstick, especially when going to parties and eating lots of food. This retails on the Priceline website for $18.95 which is pretty fantastic for a lipstick that lasts so long.
I only own one of these Melted lipsticks from Too Faced, but it really is pretty fantastic. I have been going through a liquid lipstick phase and this colour is just a perfect winter/festive lipstick. This is a wonderful berry colour and would go really well in any Christmas evening event. This lipstick is currently available at Mecca for $30AUD.
I absolutely love the Viva Glam line from MAC as it supports their Aids fund, which is a wonderful thing that this company does. This lipstick is a bit similar to D for Danger, however I believe it is more of a dark dirty red, which is going to be a wonderful colour for this time of the year. This is another Matte lipstick, however this formula is so creamy and does not dry my lips out at all. This is one thing I hate about MAC lipsticks, some of their Mattes are very dry and some are super creamy which is a little strange. This lipstick is currently available from MAC for $36AUD.
This is my last pick for festive lipsticks and once again, this one is a little different to the normal festive lipsticks. This one is definitely a more coral pink, but I chose this because it is something different and probably few people will be wearing this colour. As I said earlier, I live in Australia, so it is summer here and I think this is definitely a more Aussy Christmas colour vs a winter Christmas lip. I really like these matte creams, however, they are not very good at re-applying and I find that you need to take the lip off first before you add more. These retail at Priceline for $10.49AUD.
I hope you guys enjoyed this festive lipstick post. I tried to include some different colours to be a bit more unique and I also tried to include products that will suit all different price ranges. Please be sure to follow my blog and check out my social media.
